Welcome

Working with wood as a medium allows you to not only appreciate what nature has wrought, but to also create as an artist, your own interpretation of its form. Wood is contradictory; it is hard and unwieldy and yet with vision and care, you can coax the most spectacular functional and art forms from its depths. Wood is unpredictable (any experienced wood turner knows this is true) but with attention to detail and a little luck, a piece of wood will reveal untold stories about its life and growth, as if wanting you to immortalize its very existence.

Within these pages you'll find examples of my turned wood items, encompassing artistic ornamental bowls, vases, and hollow-forms along with functional pieces such as salad bowls, platters, and pepper mills. My inventory of these pieces is constantly changing so I would advise any interested viewers to contact me for more details or visit the shop.

The "Art" of my site is to emphasize those natural shapes that offer their invitation to be held, and whose simplicity does not detract from the natural beauty of the wood.

The "Craft" is in having the skills to accomplish this goal.
